3 THINGS VETERANS NEED TO DO

A military mindset is automatically going to have “blind spots” in the civilian world,

Because when you look at yourself in the mirror, you only see a fraction of who you truly are,

Specially in today’s society, where we are being programmed to “fit in” and conform,

The civilian world is easier to succeed in but without completing a Mental TAP training you’ll struggle for decades of your civilian life

Overtime you’ll get bitter with more anxiety, anger and unhappiness,

We cannot make ourselves better by repeating thinking patterns and habits that failed us in the past,

We cannot make ourselves better and happier by ignoring our inner-mind struggles,

But our relationship with our self is the most important relationship we have, and that’s where our list is going to start:

POSITIVE SELF-TALK
In order to achieve this, you must first believe that you are valuable, and your Real Self has something to offer the world. Since you talk to yourself more than everyone else in your life combined –that’s a lot of talk!—it’s up to YOU to establish healthy communication in your thinking. Consciously listen to how you talk to yourself; write down the unhealthy things you say (limiting beliefs, etc); challenge them; and replace them with facts or past accomplishments, etc.

ACHIEVE MIND PEACE/CLARITY
You know those inner voices, or life events and other things that are constantly nagging you and making it harder for you to find balance. Like the need to find purpose and a new identity through a fulfilling civilian job that feels natural and pays well enough to take care of the family. Limiting beliefs about abilities, imposter syndrome, anxiety, stress, PTSD, bills to pay, kids running around, guilt, shame, need to keep the boss happy, etc. With all of that noise going on, it is impossible to focus on what truly matters and understand where our happiness comes from.

KNOW YOUR “WHY?”
Most of us have stopped listening to our hearts and go only with our heads. We need to reconnect these two in order to find our real self, access our energy and full potential. It’s easy to become accustomed to thinking about your feelings instead of really feeling them. Figure out what you think about most and ask yourself why it’s important to you.

That’s how we discover new hobbies, find purpose, energy, inspiration and motivation in everyday-life but there is much more
