Veterans have a superior mindset than most civilians but struggle to unleash the superpowers of their Military Mindset in their civilian career and life?

I’m here to tell you that you can achieve full potential again by taking the time to focus on your mindset.

It shouldn’t take decades to adjust into a fulfilling and thriving civilian career and life, even if the Loss of a structured mission and team focus that you were accustomed to in the Military can be challenging to recreate in the civilian world

In the Military, your strong sense of purpose came from clear missions and a unified team. Civilian roles often lack this structure, making it hard to feel the same level of drive and connection.

Many veterans have specialized skills, but civilian employers may not recognize or fully value them, leading veterans to feel underutilized and undervalued.

If you have skills you do not know how to utilize you lose that value and end up depressed and feeling out of place.

The absence of camaraderie and support systems in the integrated culture of trust is hard to replicate in civilian life without a training, it will leave you feeling isolated and less understood.

There is a need for an identity adjustment, because of the shift and loss of role significance tied to your role in the military will leave you feeling uncertain about who you are outside of the military.

Furthermore, military values like loyalty, sacrifice, and honor may not be as emphasized in civilian workplaces, leading veterans to feel out of place or disillusioned.

These challenges don’t go away by themselves, because of the uncertainty in self-direction and personal goal-setting after years of receiving structured goals, you’ll find it challenging to set and pursue personal goals in the civilian world, which can feel aimless in comparison.

Communication in civilian roles is often less direct and decisive than in the Military. You may also struggle with unclear or indirect expectations, impacting your engagement and sense of purpose.

The frustration with civilian work pace and decision-making will contrast the Military’s efficiency-driven approach and clash with slower civilian work environments, causing frustration and a lack of fulfillment in the pace and process of work.

All of these challenges will only exacerbate mental health challenges and unresolved traumas such as PTSD, anxiety, or depression which will make it more difficult to find joy and meaning in civilian pursuits, creating a barrier to feeling purposeful.

Translating your skills with limited exposure to career options that spark fulfillment in an environment where you are not fully aware of civilian career paths that could use your skills meaningfully, leading you to settle for roles that don’t align with your strengths and interests.

Focusing on your mindset can address all of these challenges without “civilian-ing.” Because Government Transition Assistance Programs (TAP) are only focusing on job search and VA benefits, we decided to provide a comprehensive and scientific approach called Self-Actualization.

Dr. Abraham Maslow describe Self-actualization a the ability to be come the best version of oneself. The only version of you that is able to achieve true success, happiness and full potential in all aspects of life.

In the civilian world, just like in the Military, you create your own reality, when you change the way you think, you also change your results automatically, and that’s the benefit of Self-actualization.

In the FaithSMagnet Mental Transition Assistance Program “Be The Best version of You,” we use this comprehensive scientific approach because we believe that everything is interconnected.

If you are serious about unleashing the superpowers of your military mindset in your civilian life and career, book a FREE Career Consultation to start your transformation, regardless of age, gender, race or time out of service.
